There are so many great resources out there for freelance writers. I have been successfully freelancing full-time for six years now, and I still learn something new literally every single day.
The bloggers behind The WM Freelance Writers are some of the best freelance writers in the business, and they’ve got a lot to offer. Still, we know that there are plenty of other smart and highly-qualified folks out there sharing need-to-know info for freelance writers too.
We don’t want you to miss a thing, so that’s why we’ve decided to try something new. Each week, we’ll bring you our ten favorite writing-related posts from around the web. And, we encourage you to share your favorites with us in the comments!
So here we go with the inaugural edition of Links We Love!
Since we just finished with our free blog and website review offer to celebrate our new freelance writers forum, I’ve got blogging on the brain. So, it only seemed natural to go with the flow.
In no particular order, here are my favorite ten blogging links this week.
- Ever wonder how to make a blog post go viral? Well, wonder no more. Glen over at ViperChill has a comprehensive tutorial on how to create viral posts. It’s a good one. Go read it.
- Speaking of blog posts, when was the last time you wrote one? Do you need a little kick in the pants to get your blog moving again? I know I do. One of my most beloved blogs, the first one I started back in 2005, sometimes gets put on the back burner in favor of my other duties. That’s why I joined the Ultimate Blog Challenge, which begins April 1. If you have the same problem, you should join too.
- Ever have low self-esteem moments? So does every writer. Check out this funny and strangely informative post over at Make Money Online about 27 reasons this writer writes crap every day.
- Ready to take your blog to the next level? Rich over at Rich’s Corner offers ten valuable (and doable) tips on how to take your blog to the next level. Check it out here.
- We all make mistakes. But how great would it be if we could avoid them? Well, here’s your very own writerly superhero, The Financial Blogger, on a mission to save you from making the same mistakes he did when he started his blog. Interesting stuff–here ya go.
- The rhythm is gonna get you! The blogging rhythm, that is. And it’s necessary for success. But don’t worry if you can’t get it–Kesha Brown over at XD Web Solutions offers her own plan for finding and keeping your blogging rhythm. She knows what she’s talking about. Check it.
- Y’all know how I’m always harping about how freelance writers need to use social media? Well, it’s true. But in case you didn’t believe me, Danielle McGaw’s got 50 reasons that you need to be getting social on networking sites. You know you want it.
- Who runs out of blog topic ideas? Oh, only EVERY successful blogger. No biggie, though. Chris Brogan’s got you covered. In this vintage post, he shares 100 blog post topics–and he wants YOU to write them. An oldie, but a goodie.
- No one likes to hear “I told you so.” So look, the lovely folks over at Broke Professionals are doing other bloggers a solid and sharing 100 things they’ve learned in their blogging careers. Drink it up, folks. Drink it up.
- Is your blog feeling the Facebook like love? Speaking of which, I love me some ProBlogger. Darren Rowse has got it going on. Anyway, in this guest post, Matt Robinson dishes on how to get people to like you on Facebook. Dude knows what he’s talking about. Read it and get started on building your own empire.
Well, that’s it for me. So how about you? What were the best links you found around the net for freelance writers this week? Share in the comments!
