All of the bloggers here at The WM Freelance Writers Connection are real-live working writers and editors, and we know how hard it can be to break into the business. We also know that most freelancers don’t have money to waste, and that’s why we never recommend a product, service or book that we haven’t personally used–nor do we recommend anything we haven’t found to be tremendously useful in growing our careers.
The tools you’ll find here have helped us build our businesses, and that’s why we’re sharing them with you.
The Freelance Writers Den
“I opened The Freelance Writers Den to give you more quality information and individual help with your freelance writing career.” ~Carol Tice
Carol Tice, six-figure freelance writer and author of the award-winning Make a Living Writing blog has opened her doors to help her fellow freelancers succeed.
6 ways the Den helps you grow your freelance writing income:
- Weekly live Den Meetings and a monthly Webinar (nonmembers pay $47), with recording and handout
- Unlimited access to recordings of all my past Webinars, teleclasses, and podcasts with guests such as The Well-Fed Writer’s Peter Bowerman (sell for $100s if bought separately)
- Quick, knowledgeable help and support in our cozy Den forums
- A private message box for those sensitive questions (vs coaching at $100+ an hour)
- Our Junk-Free Job Board saves you time by featuring only good-paying offers
- Learn how to turn your site into a client magnet with a complimentary writer site review
For one low monthly rate, it’s all-you-can-eat learning at The Freelance Writer’s Den, instead of paying more for a Webinar (Tice’s are $36 each) or a bootcamp there ($97).

Here’s an excerpt from our archives. When former WM Freelance Writers Connection Blogger Carol Tice blogged about the A-List Blogger Club when she joined in 2010, she had this to say.
- The forums. When you join A-List Bloggers Club, you have access to chat forums on every possible aspect of blogging, and a community of 750 other passionate bloggers help you find answers to your questions. I’ve already met so many amazing writers on the forums. It’s a leap beyond asking about stuff somewhere like LinkedIn’s writer forums. The people in the club aren’t playing around — they’re all serious about blogging and many have expertise to share. Leo and Mary have deputized many moderators for the forums who have great experience.
- The personal access. I didn’t know this would happen, but Mary and Leo are very actively involved in the club. Mary has responded to some of my questions on the forum, retweeted a few of my posts from Make a Living Writing, and even came to my blog and left comments and gave me feedback. So it turns out the Club is also an opportunity to make some high-powered personal connections. Who knows how that might help my blogging career down the line.
- The mountain of material. Even if I didn’t do any of my paid writing work for clients, I don’t think I could get through and absorb all the advice and tips inside the Club in one month! It just has vast amounts of content. One thing that’s nice is there’s variety to the formats — some are videos, some podcasts, and then many written posts. There are high-grade guest teachers as well, including ProBlogger’s Darren Rowse.
Today, Carol is the founder of the very successful Freelance Writers Den, a group-mentoring and communityconcept she developed when the demand for her mentoring services rose to a new level after her Make a Living Writing blog took off, thanks in part to what she learned through the A-List Blogger Club.
Here’s what one of their happy clients has to say about Leo and Mary’s Bootcamps, which are free when you join the A-List Blogger Club:
“Thanks to your Bootcamp, I have learned more in a few days than I would have believed possible. The information I learned at the Bootcamp was like striking gold.” – Barrie Davenport: Live Bold and Bloom
